Lyon, Part 3 — le marché Duchere

The Saturday morning farmers' market in the neighborhood of Lyon called Duchere:






Olives! Oui!


 This is all local produce.

Not sure what the veggie below is. Looks like tiny artichokes. You're supposed to boil it and then drink the water. Hmmm.

And then, the part of the market that sells household goods and clothing:




 Best moment of the morning for me was seeing these two women greeting each other in the middle of the market with the enthusiastic French kiss on both cheeks:


That evidence of a cross-cultural bond was a hopeful antidote for me.
